To gain a FIDE rating, players need to play a minimum of 5 games against existing FIDE-rated opponents, of which one of the games must be a victory and the player's Tournament Performance Rating (TPR) must be over 1000. Please note these requirements are expected to change on 1st January 2024 when the new minimum FIDE rating will be increased from 1000 to 1400.
